When you are discharged, your physician provides a written release from the Hospital.
Your nurse reviews with you any final instructions from your physician.
Inpatients can be discharged only after an order for discharge has been entered into
the computer by the staff physician who must provide a discharge diagnosis. A RN may
accept a verbal order to implement discharge.
You may contact the Financial Counselor before you go home to make arrangements
for payment on your account. The counselor is available 8:00am to 4:00pm weekdays
at 304-455-8012. At other times, the Admitting staff will be available to assist you.
A patient escort will accompany you from your room to the main entrance and will assist
you with your personal items.
